Ragatage Ragdolls

2018 marked nearly 15 years of breeding these wonderful cats at Ragatage Ragdolls and involved a big house move and lots of exciting new projects on the horizon.

Run by Andrew & Lara Armitage, the new Ragatage cattery is based in the beautiful Scottish Borders, not far from Edinburgh, and is home to three breeding females and their darling stud, Rhett. The couple also has eight retiree Ragdolls, who have left behind their breeding careers to form the basis of a new animal assisted therapy programme that will soon be on offer at Ragatage Ragdolls. Hoping to launch in Spring of 2019, Andrew & Lara are excited to be able to provide workshops and counselling spaces for vulnerable groups and individuals.

Andrew Armitage is a vet at Greenside Veterinary Practice in
St Boswells, where he heads up the UK's first concerted regenerative veterinary medicine unit. His wife Lara deals with the day-to-day running of Ragatage Ragdolls. She is helped in no small part by their children, Lucius & Sylvie, who relish their responsibilities as carers for the cats and kittens. Lara is also on the committee for The British Ragdoll Cat Club and has served as one of the club's rescue & rehome liaisons since 2015.
